Jan 3, 2024 · AW · New Years auction Loose jumper, Ridden horses & Breeding opened the new year with popping corks. The 68-headed collection was warmly received and brought smiles on the faces of many buyers and sellers. The KWPN stallion It’s Otto was, for 45,000 euro, the sizzler of Tuesday-night, 2 January. 

“A good start of 2024!”, says organiser Mario Everse enthusiastically. “We started the new year well with good sales and many horses changing owners. We always try to compile a strong and varies collection. That attracts a public equally divers, from ambitious amateur to Grand Prix riders and reputable dealers. It is great to find that we cater for a very wide public with our auctions!” 

The 10-yr-old KWPN stallion It’s Otto so far drew the public’s eyes under Albert Zoer and now the licesned son of Etoulon VDL may continue his career in Eastern Europe. The 5-yr-old Onesto Colado O (Baltic VDL x Kannan) triggered a heated bidding duel, in which buyers from Turkey placed the winning bid of 40,000 euro. The 3-yr-old mare Dunanita BVG Z (Dominator 2000 Z x Odermus R) was with 38,000 euro, leader of the twelve horses staying in the Netherlands. 

There was a remarkable amount of interest from Eastern Europe. For example, horses were sold to Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria. The Czech Republic also seriously invested in the new year and secured seven horses. Among them are the 6-yr-old Camillo Z (Canturano I x Cash and Carry) and the 1.5-yr-old Cosimo DV Z (Chacco Blue x Emerald van ’t Ruytershof), a cousin of Kriskras DV (1.65m GP). The two geldings were knocked down for 28,000 and 26,000 euro, respectively.

American buyers wanted the 5-yr-old mares Carin Z (Canturano I x Harley VDL) and Chaccily (Chacoon Blue x Galoubet A), that were each sold for 28,000 euro. The 4-yr-old Balou’s Bruno (Baloubet du Rouet x Coriano) is one of four horses that will move to a stable in Italy.

Buyers from Australia got hold of the 4-yr-old stallion Leonardo W (Leandro VG x Denzel van ’t Meulenhof), who was bred out of the sister of Emerald van ’t Ruytershof and Nixon van het Meulenhof.

Extra edition on 16 January
Although will continue the trend of having an auction every first Tuesday-night of the month, there will be an extra auction held on Tuesday 16 January: the breeding edition, which is full of interesting broodmares and embryos. The auction following the latter will be held on Tuesday 6 February. “In this Valentine edition we focus on free jumping talents and horses under saddle. Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 January we organize the respective selection and video days. Anyone having a remarkable talent for sale may enter via”, Mario Everse concludes.
