Sep 2, 2026 · AW · 'SEPTEMBER EDITION' YOUHORSE.AUCTION Under the saddle, Loose Jumping & Breeding August 29 - September 1 2026
From being purchased through Youhorse.auction to earning a ticket for the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses and now returning to the auction ring. Rapido (Nixon van ’t Meulenhof x Mr. Blue) added a remarkable sporting story to Tuesday’s September 1 auction. The five-year-old wildcard of the September Auction became the auction’s top seller, changing hands for €60,000 to buyers in Mexico.
The five-year-old gelding Rapido was purchased through Youhorse.auction by an investor in February 2026 and was subsequently successfully produced. Following an impressive fifth-place finish at the KWPN Championships, he recently secured a ticket to for the World Championships in Lanaken, which take place later this month.
At the very last moment, Rapido was given a place in the Youhorse.auction as a wildcard. It proved to be an excellent decision: Rapido became the most sought-after horse of the September Auction. Bidders from several countries competed for the five-year-old gelding. The new owners from Mexico can now look forward not only to welcoming their latest acquisition, but also to a trip to Lanaken.
“These are the stories that make an auction extra special for us,” says organiser Mario Everse. “A horse is purchased through our auction, the owner enjoys several months of pleasure and sporting success with him, he even earns a ticket for Lanaken and then the decision is made to sell him through Youhorse.auction. The fact that Rapido is now heading towards a new international future in Mexico makes the story come full circle.”
International destinations
Rapido was not the only horse to attract considerable attention on Tuesday evening. The six-year-old gelding Hocus Pocus van Overis (Hickstead x Celano) is heading to the United States, while the seven-year-old gelding Deauville du Maillet Z (Dominator 2000 Z x Presley Boy) was secured by Mexican buyers and will move to the same stable as Rapido. The five-year-old mare Georgia GP Z (George Z x Glock’s London) will continue her career in Germany.
The young prospects also attracted interest from well beyond the Netherlands. The four-year-old gelding Salud SVU (Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve x Diarado) will remain in the Netherlands, while the five-year-old mare Via Roma (Pegase van ’t Ruytershof x Kashmir van Schuttershof) is heading to Estonia. The five-year-old Charlie Z (Chacfly PS x Calido I) is destined for a future in Turkey.
The September Auction once again demonstrated its broad international reach. In total, the horses were sold to buyers in 22 different countries. In addition to established destinations across Europe and the United States, Youhorse.auction also attracted buyers from countries including India and Egypt in this edition.
New talents sought for October
While Rapido prepares for the World Championships, the Youhorse.auction team is already searching for the next generation of talented horses. The next auction is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, with the video and selection days taking place on Monday, September 14 and Tuesday, September 15.
“We are once again looking for interesting loose jumpers, horses that are just broken in, as well as showjumping horses. We are also interested in foals and broodmares. Among other things, we select for character, health and quality. Anyone who has such a horse, foal or broodmare in their stable is very welcome to present them during our selection days and can register through our website. Rapido shows just how special a story like this can become. We are curious to see which horses will surprise us this time,” concludes Mario Everse.
