The Youhorse.auction Holiday Auction on Tuesday, August 4 delivered not only a tropical summer evening, but also intense international bidding. As temperatures soared, so did the bids, with the internationally experienced My Dutch SF selling for a top price of €60,000.
The nine-year-old My Dutch SF (Carrera VDL x Indorado) emerged as the standout of the August auction. The gelding, who has already proven himself at international 1.40m level, was sold to buyers from the United States for €60,000. The eight-year-old Sir Harrie van het Looi (De Flor 111 Z x Vaillant) will also make the journey to the U.S. Nine-year-old mare Monte Caterina (Hernandez TN x Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve) found a new owner in Canada. Within the Netherlands, five-year-old Colli Corneta (Colestus x Cornet Obolensky) remained at home, while the young talents Triancara VD (Avenger Z x Zirocco Blue VDL) and Partner in Crime Z (Pegase van 't Ruytershof x Mermus R) will continue their careers in Germany and Spain, respectively.
Quality and great opportunities
Organizer Mario Everse looks back on a successful auction evening. "With this warm weather, many people are on holiday, but you certainly couldn't tell from the bidding," says Mario Everse. "On the contrary, the interest was tremendous and the bids sometimes rose just as quickly as the temperature outside. Quality horses remain in demand, whether it's the middle of summer or not. At the same time, attentive bidders were once again able to secure excellent value, while professional traders and even several five-star Grand Prix riders also added new talents to their stables."
The August auction resulted in sales to buyers in 21 different countries. Spain was the largest buyer with seven purchases, followed by Italy and the United Kingdom with six horses each. France was also strongly represented with five purchases. Although most horses will remain in Europe, several talents are also heading to destinations including the United States, Canada and Morocco.
Selection days on August 10 and 11
The Youhorse.auction team is already preparing for the next edition. The next auction is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, while the selection and video days will take place on Monday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 11.
"The holiday period is actually an ideal time to select horses," says Mario Everse. "For our September auction, we're looking for horses that excite buyers. From promising young showjumpers to experienced sport horses, and from embryos and foals to broodmares. We are looking for quality in every category.
