The large-framed gelding is a son of the well breeding Thunder van de Zuuthoeve (1.50m GP), who is, amongst others, sire of top-class horses such as HH Azur (McLain Ward), Israel v/d Dennehoeve (Bart Bles) and Turbo Z (Carlos Hank).

Theodore de Lan Dry Z is bred sublimely. His dam Himarra ter Doorn (Lord Z) supplied Dijon Terdoorn Z (1.60m GP with Beat Mändli and Katherine A. Dinan) and Kastroia ter Doorn (1.45m level with Vicky Van De Poel). The latter is known as dam of the BWP licensed stallion Piece of Cake M.

Grandam Clonaslea (For Pleasure) jumped at 1.50m level herself and produced the 1.60m GP horse ESI Rocky with Seamus Hughes Kennedy (IRL). Great-grandam Olidame van de Padenborre (Quidam de Revel), 1.40m level showjumping herself, supplied Grand Prix horses such as Galipolli ter Doorn (1.60m GP), Ellichin ter Doorn (1.55m GP) and Clonaslea (1.50m level).
