THE NEXT STEP

ABOUT

The three-year-old bay mare The Next Step stands 164 and is not yet backed. She radiates scope and ease: she jumps a big fence easily and does it with plenty of quality. She has a big canter with balance and an easy trot.

We are enthusiastic about her. Our team put her down as a favourite on the video day. A mare for someone who wants to school her themselves, suitable for the advanced amateur through to the professional.

Sire
Martigny W is a son of Kannan, who jumped 1.60m himself.

Dam
Purple Rain is a daughter of Gaillard de la Pomme.

Granddam
Hartenvleur VL, by Ukato, produced Mea Culpa (1.45m).

Damline
Third dam Vleur VL produced Bar Harbor V.L. (1.60m), Chakato VL (1.50m), Duke (1.50m) and Fleur VL (1.40m).
Fourth dam produced Bestinov (by Ustinov), Dutch champion of the five-year-old jumping horses, sold at the Dutch Sport Horse Sales for 290,000 euro.
Fifth dam Nadia competed successfully at 1.60m with Georgina Bloomberg.
Sixth dam Jolly Lady also competed successfully at 1.60m.

The Next Step combines her ease over a fence with the blood of Kannan and a damline with sport up to 1.60m.
