ABOUT
How high a now 4-yr-old horse will be able to jump in the future is a matter of wait and see, of course. But Sky van Molenveld has already shown to have great deal of scope. He is still green, but a very interesting horse to be trained for the sport.
Sire Cartello VDL (Cartani) already showed that he can jump the biggest courses (1.70m Grand Prix). He even earned an amount of 523,000 euro in prize money under Darragh Kenny (IRL) in Praque and Geneva last November. Cartello VDL is the half-brother of the famous top stallion Cardento VDL, who won team silver for Sweden at the European Championships, WEG and Olympic Games.
Sky is bred out of the BWP mare Cara van Molenveld, via her sire Romeo and grand-daughter of the top-class progenitors Ramiro Z. She supplied three 1.40m to 1.45m level horses: Julio van Molenveld, Kartouche van Molenveld and Maserati van Molenveld. Grandam Tessa van Molenveld is sired by Pauillac de Meia Lua (Jalisco B).
