Glasgow van ‘t Merelsnest is the sire of Piquet BHB. The powerful black eye-catcher of Jur Vrieling is the results of a pairing of BWP Ambassador Nabab de Reve and the 1.50m GP mare Wendelina van ‘t Merelsnest (Darco), the full sister of McLain Ward’s double Olympic gold medalist Sapphire. Glasgow van ‘t Merelsnest is no exception in this family and also reached the highest level, he even triumphed in the FEI Nations Cup Final of Barcelona and the Grand Prix of Rome.
Dam Vikarla is a daughter of Heartbreaker. The legendary stallion is a sought-after name in the pedigree as he made a significant contribution to modern breeding, especially when he is featured as the damsire. Vikarla foaled the 1.40m level horse Karlanta van den Bosrand and the 1.45m level horses Ikarla van den Bosrand and Chandam.
Grandam is the 1.30m showjumping mare Ghykarla. Like Heartbreaker, her sire Ahorn is a son of the ‘stallion of the century’ Nimmerdor, thereby embedding his genes in this lineage once more.
