Will this 3-yr-old Harley Star become as big a star as his half-brother Big Star, winner of Olympic gold? He is certainly much promising. An athletic showjumping horse with fine jumping manners and a lot of scope. Many professional showjumping stables would like to have him. Harley Star has been saddle-broken.
Sire Quick Star died already nine years ago, but is still influential via his offspring. He jumped 1.60m Grand Prix under Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and supplied top-class horses, such as Quick Study, Stella, G&C Quick Star, Big Star and Orient Express.
Dam Elwendy V.D.W., descending from the 1.50m level showjumping stallion Carthino Z, already jumped at international 1.30m level when she was a 6-yr-old.
Grandam Alwendy V.D.W. (Triomphe de Muze x Indoctro) is known as a half-sister of Superman V.D.W. (1.40m level) and the AES stallion Erwin V.D.W., who jumped at 1.45m level last year under Sjaak Sleiderink and is nowadays ridden by Doron Kuipers. A cousin is Cendy VDP (1.60m Grand Prix under Oda Charlotte Lyngvaer).
