Carmel
ABOUT
Carmel is an interesting combination: sport and breeding mare. This beautiful black bay 6-year-old Holsteiner mare of 168 cm is strongly built, moves easily and shows nice gaits. She moves lightly and does everything with a lot of blood — good canter, good trot — and jumps with a lot of scope. She is not yet saddle broken, but already shows quality in free jumping.
This horse comes from one of the biggest and most renowned breeders in Germany, a breeder who has produced several 1.60m jumping horses and approved breeding stallions. The owner simply had far too many horses, which made this horse available for sale. The horses are hardly trained and still know very little; they have only recently been handled. As a result, they are not yet really easy or further educated, but that is exactly why we see so much potential here. In our opinion these are very interesting horses both for breeding and to continue developing for sport. They have had every opportunity to grow quietly and strongly, resulting in a well-developed body and a strong foundation. We have previously auctioned several horses from this breeder, including older horses that had little or no training. In the end, we gained satisfied customers from those horses. A unique opportunity to purchase a horse from a proven performance line. The horse has recently arrived in the Netherlands.
Sire CHOPIN VA (by Casall) competes himself at 1.60m level and has already produced 77 offspring. Casall, the sire of Chopin VA, is one of the most influential breeding stallions of recent decades, with offspring competing at the very highest level in the world.
Carmel’s dam is Wienbura, a 20-year-old daughter of For Pleasure. For Pleasure is one of Germany’s most renowned sport horses and breeding stallions — he won the Olympic Games and all major international Grand Prix competitions. From granddam Nienburg III (by Concerto II), impressive offspring are known: Caracho (by Cassilano), winner of the 1.60m CSI5*-W Grand Prix in Lyon — one of the most prestigious indoor championship competitions. But also Compadre van de Helle (1.60m, including winner of Shanghai CSI5* GCT), Mister Mogens (1.45m), Dithmarsia (1.45m), and Ferron (approved HOLST stallion at 1.55m).
Great-granddam Nienburg is a Staatsprämie mare with an exceptionally rich performance line. From her family come: Catani (approved HSH, 1.60m), Cefalo (approved HOLST, 1.60m), Sprite (1.60m), Quantas 15 (1.60m, including 4th Geesteren CSI3*), Look Out (1.50m), and Coronino (approved HOLST/WESTF/OLDBG, 1.45m). This is one of the richest Holsteiner dam lines in this collection.
Carmel offers opportunities for both sport and breeding.
