It is so great to ride a horse that is very athletic and shows a great deal of power. Whoever will lay his or her hands on the 4-yr-old Meerstad will discover that he is a very good sport horse for the future. He is saddle-broken.

The French bred stallion Global Express VDL won the Blom Cup for 5-yr-old showjumping horses and was reserve champion in the stallion competition classes 1.10m, 1.20m and 1.30m before he was sold to the USA. 

Meerstad inherited a lot of scope from his grandsire Cardento VDL. Dam Cula is a keur-awarded mare who scored 75 points for her IBOP, including an 8.5 for attitude. She is a full sister of Blokum (international 1.35m level) and a half-sister of Sarina (1.40m level) and Zinnig (1.30m level).

Grandam Isarina (Nimmerdor x Willow Cratic xx) jumped at 1.30m level herself and is grandam of six international showjumping horses, including Bas (1.55m level ridden by Pia-Louise Aufrecht), Loukas de la Noue (1.50m level with Cameron Hanley) and Fortuna (1.45m level with Katrin Eckermann).
